Garlic butter depositing

FoodJet's garlic butter depositor places garlic butter, herbs and inclusions exactly onto bread, rolls, flatbread and baguettes, without hand-spreading and without product alignment. Vision technology recognises each product's shape and position, so the depositor follows irregular products instead of forcing them into a fixed grid. Pinch-valve depositing heads handle real inclusions like herbs and seasonings.

No product alignment needed

Bread slices and rolls vary in shape, which makes them almost impossible to line up mechanically. You don't have to. The depositor's vision technology recognises the shape and position of every product on the conveyor and places the garlic butter exactly where it belongs. You skip the alignment step and still get even coverage on every piece, whatever its shape.

This is an example of surface filling in practice.

Built for garlic butter with inclusions

Garlic butter is rarely smooth. The herbs and seasonings that give it flavour are exactly what blocks ordinary depositing equipment. FoodJet uses pinch-valve depositing heads that keep the path open for these inclusions, so the product lands cleanly on top instead of smearing down the sides. From a Bostwick value of 3 upward (a Bostwick value measures how far a product flows in a set time, so a lower number means a thicker product), your recipe runs without compromising its texture.

Switch products in under a minute

Moving from one shape or size to another doesn't mean mechanical adjustments. You load a pre-saved setting and continue. Because the precision lives in the software and not in fixed tooling, a change-over takes under a minute and your line keeps running.

A garlic butter system built around your line

Every FoodJet system is configured to your line, so no two are identical. A garlic butter setup is matched to your product, throughput and layout, as a standalone unit or integrated into your existing conveyor. The table below shows what a typical garlic butter application looks like.

Application

Garlic butter, herb butter and spreads with inclusions

Substrates

Bread slices, rolls, flatbread, baguettes, sandwiches

Deposit consistency

Within ±3% (even coverage and placement, not just weight)

Minimum deposit

From 3 g (e.g. on a 10×10 cm product); no fixed maximum

Product viscosity

From a Bostwick value of 3 upward (thicker products handled easily)

Inclusions

Herbs and seasonings, via pinch-valve depositing heads

Line speed

10 to 15 m/min, depending on product and recipe

Product alignment

Not required; vision-guided per product

Depositing heads

Pinch-valve heads, selected to your capacity and material

System

Standalone or integrated into your existing conveyor

Lanes / heads

Configured to throughput and product layout

What machine deposits garlic butter accurately at production scale?

FoodJet's garlic butter depositor. It places garlic butter, herbs and inclusions onto bread, rolls and flatbread at line speeds of 10 to 15 m/min, guided by vision so no product alignment is needed, with deposit consistency within ±3%.

Can FoodJet deposit garlic butter on rolls, flatbread and baguettes?

Yes. The same depositor handles bread slices, rolls, flatbread, baguettes and sandwiches. Vision technology follows each product's shape, so you can run mixed shapes and sizes on one line without retooling.

How does FoodJet handle garlic butter with herbs and inclusions?

The depositing heads use pinch valves that stay open for inclusions. Herbs and seasonings pass through cleanly, so the product lands on top of the bread instead of clogging the nozzle or smearing the sides. Products from a Bostwick value of 3 upward run well.

Does the product need to be aligned on the conveyor?

No. Vision technology recognises the position and shape of every product, so the depositor places garlic butter accurately even on irregular or randomly placed products. You remove the manual alignment step.

How accurate and consistent is the deposit?

Deposit consistency stays within ±3%. Just as important, the coverage looks the same on every product, which is what your customers notice. Minimum deposits start from around 3 grams on a 10×10 cm product, with no fixed maximum.

How quickly can the line switch between products?

Under a minute. You load a pre-saved recipe instead of making mechanical changes, because the settings live in the software.
